I would love to get my husband to explore the catholic faith.I was wondering what books there are out there that i could get for him to read so that he can make up his own mind.
These are all good books! And I especially second those by Scott Hahn. I would specifically like to recommend Coming Home to Rome. This book is SO helpful towards understanding and overcoming the most common obstacles and questions concerning the faith. They gave these out at my husband’s RCIA class. AWESOME BOOK. My husband does not like to read and he read this in two days.Born Fundamentalist, Born Again Catholic, by David Currie
Evangelical is Not Enough by Thomas Howard
anything by Scott Hahn (Lord Have Mercy, Hail Holy Queen, etc.
These are books written by former Protestants of various backgrounds (Currie was fundamentalist, Howard was evangelical/Anglican, and Hahn was Presbyterian). They are not deep tomes of the Catholic faith–these kinds of books will scare Protestants away! The books I recommend are excellent for Protestants because they will peak their interest and inspire them to learn more, but not frighten them away.
I read all of these before my conversion early on and thought they were all excellent!Born Fundamentalist, Born Again Catholic, by David Currie
