Hello All,
I am posting it again since I realized that not everybody can reply to a book club post.
Recently there is a lots of attention given to “Marriage” because of the uprise of the demand for" gay marriage" legislations in many parts of the world. I have many friends in France and the debate about the marriage is ofetn ends up in calling names and spreading hatred, so i have heard.
I wanted to engage in a debate or conversation with my friends who are vehemently for “gay marriage” but I find myself not well informed with “waht marriage” is.
I know it is a Sacrement and the first and the oldest instituition and established by God etc. I aslo know what good it does to the society. However I am not strong enough because I feel I am missing some basic understanding on Marriage. What is it? why is it? Why should it be alweays between man and wife? How can we defend it by a secular point of view? Can we distance religion from Marriage and debate about it? How to argue for marriage etc. Are my questions.
If anyone knows good books that are a must read for all those who defend marriage as we know today, Please suggest them to me. I need to eductae myself.
God bless you and a Happy New Year,
Joe Antony.
