Haven’t read them, but the illustrator, Tony Diterlizzi, or TD as he signed his illustrations for the Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition Monstrous Manual, is one of the greatest artists alive. His illustrations alone are why I liked Planescape (at first–then the whole Cosmic-Hitchhiker’s-Guide vibe won me over).
