The Confessions of St. Augustine, modern English translation by Sr. Maria Boulding.

I’m amazed nobody here has mentioned Quo Vadis. Every Catholic should read it. It was written by a Catholic and is an amazing peice of historical fiction.

The Shepherd of Hermas, and not the faithless commentary editors write in foot notes, just the ancient text itself.

Anybody know good Catholic fiction?

I enjoyed Father Elijah and another book called Devil’s Advocate. I tried to read Power and the Glory but couldn’t get into it.

I am reading a novel called Lord of The World and I’m enjoying it.

Unbound by Neal Lozano, a mind-blowing non confrontational , model for rejecting Satan in our lives. this book rocked my Catholic world and has taken me to a much higher more joy filled place
