Hi! Someones asked me a few questions and quite frankly I was asking the same ones myself.

1.At my parish, the Tabernacle is in the back of the church (unfortunatly). When I pass it I genuflect, now when I enter the pew am I supposed to bow reverencing the altar? Do I just do one or both?
  1. Before Mass I see people praying in the pews. If I just visited the Blessed Sacrament do I have to pray in the pew again?
Thanks!

Yes, you definitely genuflect to the tabernacle because that is the Real Presence of Christ. The altar represents Christ and that is why the priest kisses it when he first approaches it. So a bow of reverence to the altar is appropriate. As far as praying in the pew, that is totally up to you. I would say that our entire visit with our Lord even prior to the beginning of Mass is a prayer. Of course, the Mass is the greatest public prayer. But as far as private prayer is concerned, that’s completely up to you.

God Bless…teachccd 🙂
