The Council was concern about excessive use of Icons or images. That is why the Council did not allow images. If you look the Council of Elvira was in 306 A.D.Oh my Mannyfit! It seems your quotes show the early church was opposed to venerating images! How can this be a tradition from the Apostles!?!?!
You however failed to realized that during the first Century Christians could not read. Images were widely used.
There are even catacombs that show images of a Man tending his sheeps.
