I had a brown scapular and it was getting worn out (I was enrolled with that one). I know they need to be replaced when they are no longer in good repair.
I got a few new ones and had taken them to the Priest. He gave them a ‘general Blessing’. Then I read today that no Blessing for the new scapular is needed. I thought that this meant no ‘enrollment’ is needed. I guess an extra Blessing can only be good, but I also read this:
“and the formula of blessing must be sanctioned by the Congregation of Rites.” in the Catholic Encyclopedia today (newadvent.org/cathen/13508b.htm)
So… I am a bit worried now as

So… I am a bit worried now as
- My scapular was was blessed with a general blessing and not with such formula.
- The other scapulars have now been blessed as well, while they are gifts for people to get enrolled themselves
