Today was a feast of St. Paul, and so there was the inseparable commemoration of St. Peter. Does anyone know if, during a feast of St. Paul, one should bow the head slightly also at the name of St. Peter, and, during a feast of St. Peter, one should bow the head slightly at the name of St. Paul? Thanks in advance.

God bless,

Fr. Boyd

That a good question, and I don’t know the answer, but I do have a following up question: Do you bow the head at the name of Peter on his feast day? And at the name of Paul on his feast day?

Oh yes; both in the EF and the OF, you bow the head slightly at a mention of the saint of the day (except in the title of an epistle or Gospel reading). However, the inseparable commemoration for Sts. Peter & Paul is only for the EF.
