This was just a sad story:

**"The mother enrolled her 8-year-old autistic son in a Fayette County T-ball league “to help him socialize and gain confidence.” **

**Instead, the boy got a coach who offered to pay a 7-year-old teammate $25 to injure him before a game so the boy’s limitations wouldn’t keep the Falcons from a win, according to state police at Uniontown. **

The 7-year-old boy threw a ball at his teammate’s left ear and then threw another ball into his groin during warm-ups before the game, according to state police. The 8-year-old boy didn’t play with the Falcons during the game on June 27 and went to the hospital instead."

Here’s a follow-up from today:

"Starting pitcher Barry Zito has invited the boy and his family to be his guests at an Oakland A’s game. Zito would provide tickets and invite the boy to meet the team, his spokeswoman said. The family would need to find a way to the game – in California or at a site closer to Pennsylvania."

Wish the 7-year-old teammate was invited as well. Hope this doesn’t mess him up.

Idiot coach.

Sending a boy to do a man’s work. Hrumph.

Oh, yes. About the boy.

I couldn’t help when thinking about a lawsuit involving damage to the groin, how much another person made against McDonalds. Too bad the Little League doesn’t have as deep pockets, or those parents might get a nice little bonu$ to help them care for their child.

Idiot still he isn’t able to foresee he can’t get away with this one.

When I first heard this, I thought they were talking about an outragious episode on South Park.

For heaven’s sake, these kids are 7 and 8!!! Is winning the only thing on that coach’s mind?

When winning gets to be more important than a kid’s physical well being, it’s time to fire the coach.
