Correction, they were not specifically intended for children but for people of ALL ages.
Sorry to be picking on you specifically but I really get bugged when people dismiss Disney films as “kids stuff” when they were (at least the Golden Age classics, 1939 through the early 70s before and shortly after Walt’s death) intended for adults as well as children.
They were created for people of all ages to enjoy.
I’ve done tons of research on this and this is a sensitive topic for me since my dad was an animator for Disney for 11 years and I view the Disney films as works of art and appreciate how much work and devotion the animators put into it.
