Today I received an email from the American Family Association…

Dear BlestOne,
McDonald’s has refused a request to remain neutral in the culture war, choosing to continue support of the homosexual agenda. AFA wrote McDonald’s asking the company do two things:
*
  • Remove McDonald’s name and logo from the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) Web site listing McDonald’s as a “Corporate Partner and Organization Ally” of NGLCC.
  • Remove the endorsement of NGLCC by Richard Ellis, Vice President of Communications for McDonald’s USA, from the NGLCC Web site.
McDonald’s refused both requests. McDonald’s donated $20,000 to NGLCC in exchange for membership in the NGLCC and a seat on the group’s board of directors. The NGLCC lobbies Congress on a wide range of issues including the promotion of homosexual marriage.
This boycott is not about hiring homosexuals, or homosexuals eating at McDonald’s, or how homosexual employees are treated. It is about McDonald’s, as a corporation,** choosing to put the full weight of their corporation behind promoting the homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage.**
Pat Harris, Global Chief Diversity Officer, Vice President, Inclusion & Diversity at McDonald’s, responded: "I would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm our position on diversity." Notice that Ms. Harris said “reaffirm.” Translated: McDonald’s will not change their policy of supporting the NGLCC and their promotion of homosexual marriage.
Richard Ellis, who is openly homosexual, was given a seat on the NGLCC Board of Directors. He was quoted as saying: “I’m thrilled to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and ready to go to work. I share the NGLCC’s passion for business growth and development within the LGBT community, and I look forward to playing a role in moving these important initiatives forward.”
Addressing McDonald’s promotion of social issues, McDonald’s CEO Jim Skinner said earlier the company will aggressively promote the issues they approve. In remarks on its Web site, Skinner said: “Being a socially responsible organization is a fundamental part of who we are. We have an obligation to use our size and resources to make a difference in the world … and we do.”
Here is a copy of the email I sent to McDonalds:

To whom it may concern:

I eat at McDonald’s everyday for lunch. I also take my family there for dinner at least twice a week. My family size is 6 people. So, we purchase approximately 17 or more meals per week in your stores. I also meet business contacts there, so I am also bringing in patrons to your restaurant.

I am willing to give this up if you continue to support the homosexual political agenda. I cannot in good conscience feed myself, my family or my friends in a place where my consumer dollars are going to something I feel is morally wrong and not in the best interests of my children.

In addition to my patronage that you would be losing, I have many community ties and I am willing to use whatever influence I can to convince them to support a boycott of all McDonald’s franchises.

Let’s face it, money talks… are you willing to lose patrons over a political stance you take to get name recognition at the Gay Olympics and the Gay agenda PAC’s? If you are fine, your decision is made… and I am sure that you will understand as a Christian and a mother, I can no longer support your company.

I really expect to disseminate a copy of this email to a minimum of 10,000 people worldwide via a group that will feel just as strongly about this issue as I do.

I would happily disseminate a retraction to this group in the event that you change your minds about supporting such groups. Just remember, most of these 10,000 have family and friends too.

So, What do you guys think???

I, too, received this email from the AFA.

As for your email to McDonald’s corporate, great!!! 👍 👍 👍

I am joining the boycott of McDonald’s.

For those interested, here is a link where you can sign an online pledge to boycott McDonald’s.

McDonalds is very handy for me in regard to my business and location beside them. However, you can count me in on the boycott. They really shouldn’t mix business with “politics.” Thanks for the info.

I went to sign it and decided to give them a piece of my mind instead…🤷 Go figure… me having something to say…:rotfl:

I live in a town of 100,000 people - although I admit it’s a medical center. There is a giant Ronald McDonald house here that’s absolutely fantastic.

Although I generally don’t like their food, I began going to McDonald’s after our RCIA class had the opportunity to serve dinner at the Ronald McDonald house. I still don’t like their food, but I love what the house does. I have yet to see a Burger King house, KFC house, etc.

So . . . I don’t think McDonald’s is all good or all bad. Maybe we should temper our anger over the support of the Gay/Lesbian organizations.

I think that McDonalds as a corporation does much more good than does bad - a prime example is the Ronald McDonald House. In addition, I do not believe that their support of the “gay agenda” truly has that large of an impact one way or another, so I don’t see a reason to boycott the restaurant.

I think it is very admirable that you are so willing to stand up for your beliefs, and in no way do I feel that you are in the wrong by trying to get others to boycott McDonalds. I just feel that there are many larger issues facing the world today for us as Christians to be concerned about than homosexuality.

Such as…?

Are you saying that people are only permitted to be concerned about one moral evil or civil problem? That is a false choice.

And if if this were true, that does not mean that one is prevented from doing the morally correct thing and joining this boycott.

Short of supporting abortion, there is nothing more evil that a person or corporation can support.

There is no logic in your position.

GREAT GOOGLEY MOOGELY!!!

What do I think? What do I think? Good golley, Miss Molly!

Aside from that, …Hmm, I seem to be at a need to refill my revolutionary repotoir. Down with the Clown! Hey, that rhymed.

DOWN WITH THE CLOWN!!!

Yeah, I sent them a piece of my mind too, and forwarded the info to everyone I know. Their food is nasty anyway, so it’s not like I ate there much, but I don’t EVER go there now. Pass it on! Let everyone know where their money is going when they buy that Big Mac.

I couldn’t disagree more with true_believer. Supporting homosexuality as these groups do feeds into the whole abortion lie. If you don’t believe me spends some time listening to EWTN and they will tie it all together for you. Anyway I am happy to say we are boycotting and have signed the petition telling them so.

I’ve signed the petition also and will start the boycotting…effective…NOW:thumbsup:!!!

I second and third guess everything that comes from Don Wildman.

I will go out and check for more information.

I can’t eat at McDonald’s anyway. If I can’t have a McRib, I don’t want to eat there.

Oh gosh, even without the boycott, you’re probably better off not eating there anyway. The food may be cheap, but it is so unhealthy!

Exactly. There are so many reasons that none of us should be eating there anyway. I could count on the fingers of probably one hand the number of times I’ve had McDonalds in the last 21/2 years or so (since I saw ‘Supersize Me’) In that time I’ve lost 20 kilos, which I don’t think is a koinkydink.

Ever since I started trying to eat healthier, I really notice the bad foods because they make me get sick…

McDonald’s is the worst of all. I ate there once in the last 2 years and I felt like I’d eaten a brick. I will never eat there again.

I eat there rarely anyway because of health reasons, but I’ll boycott them too!

What are you going to tell your kids as to why you’re not going to McDonald’s anymore?

McDonald’s food isn’t all bad. Just like there is the Subway diet, you could just as easily lose weight on certain McDonald’s foods, such as their salads. (I did see a news story where someone lost weight on McDonald’s food.)

Can you tell us what alternative to McDonald’s is more morally acceptable?

You don’t need to justify it to your kids, you’re the parent and decision maker, they aren’t. When they have cars or friends to drive them, then they can go themselves.

Home made hamburgers - and a lot tastier too. Takes about five minutes to chop up some onions and garlic, mix them with the mince meat, dried herbs if you like, pepper and salt (I prefer stock powder, it’s tastier), breadcrumbs if you want, and beaten egg, and stir it together. And about five minutes each side to cook them. 🤷
