My mother is a breast cancer survivor (30 years ago this summer).
She will never donate one penny to SGK, she is a Christian and lives it in every aspect of her life. To quote her, if the only place to get treatment for my cancer was from SGK, I would have then let the cancer take its course and die. She would never think her life was more important than that of the unborn.
Thank God for strong, pro life women who will stand up and say NO to killing babies.

we’re not talking about funding PP, we’re talking about funding another entity who saves lives but supports PP.
indirect funding of PP is something you will always participate in so long as they exist, so why make survival harder for even more innocent people?

But they give more thanhalf of their funds to PP. They also give to embryonic stem cell research. Both of which Do not help find the cure. Why give to a group whose soul purpose is to NOT find the cure? There are many groups who do use all of their funds to do all of what SGK claims to do, why not give to them instead?
And always when in doubt give to the CC they will never give to PP or the rest of the culture of death.

well those are much better reasons to boycott in my opinion. My point is simply not to boycott other people’s life-giving efforts simply because of their financial support of PP, when indirect funding of PP is virtually impossible to avoid and the harm done to people as collateral damage is potentially realer than the harm (if any) that would be done to the abortion industry.
ultimately if the only place women facing risk of deadly disease have where they live is one of these PP-friendly organizations, then before trying to wage war against their only recourse, alternatives need to become just as widespread and accessible.
the best way to stop these practices is to work even harder to provide better alternatives.

look, if its over 50%, then i see your point to a degree (they need to be called out on that) but boycotting them is a terrible judgement call between babies saved (probably none) by hurting these breast cancer fighters vs how many breast cancer victims you hurt. And how is taking breast cancer victims lives in our hands just?
my feeling is you harm more innocent people than you’ll save. unless you can make sure everyone who depends on them has a better option available. then you have more righteous power over an organization like this one.
because, unfortunately, they don’t see that it’s vile, and they are following their conscience, supporting something they believe (to our sorrow) is a force of good.
it seems like the organization that protects people from breast cancer is doing a mediocre job of it, and the best thing would be to increase the presence of better alternatives.

personally, i’m very skeptical of mainstream cancer treatments, but i’m not the world’s leading authority, and for someone who’s life is on the line, they may believe in the treatment given.
plus, some kind of treatment/diagnosis resource nearby is better than none.
but ultimately, i get the sense that the effectiveness of their treatment plays no role in this idea to boycott. even if they were curing people left and right, i’m sure many if not most pro life activists would sadly want to take them down if they supported PP in any way, and that underlying guiding formula is what i’m really cautioning against.

I think that if we applied this logic to everyone/everything, we would boycott all and support none, i.e. “they did something I don’t agree with.”
Not saying I don’t understand the reason behind why people want to boycott this foundation, but I think if you go down this route you can find a reason to boycott everything.

That is true to a degree. But as others have said; when there are better or even equal alternatives out there who do the same work but don’t donate to PP, it’s being a good steward to choose the alternatives, in my opinion.
When I learned Chase and Bank of America are donors to PP, I immediately canceled the credit cards I had with them - one for over 15 years. I made sure to tell them why I canceled, and every time I get junk mail with a prepaid return envelope from either of them I write a letter explaining why I choose not to do business with them and mail it back to them at their expense. I am not rude, but simply state it in a respectful manner.
It may accomplish absolutely nothing … but who knows who reads those letters? Who knows if the lost revenue makes a little impact somewhere, somehow?
