Boycotting Lindsay Lohen

I’m kind of new to this site, but I just wanted to share this with you all.
I’ve never been a fan of Lindsay Lohan, I have just thought she was a terrible role model for young people. Well, she has a new album coming out next month, and the cover of the CD has greatly disturbed me. On the cover she is half naked (which is really no surprise) and she is wearing a rosary. It is no secret that she is involved with the Kabbala relgion, so for her to wear a rosary is very insulting to Catholics. Especially wearing it while posing very suggestively with no top on.
I truely didn’t think that even she could stoop that low. I’ve seen Britney Spears wear it on countless occasions which did not surprise me at all.
As for me, I will never see another one of Miss Lohan’s movies again. Can the people at catholic.com and at Catholic Answers inform the general public of Miss Lohan’s CD and to boycott Ms. Lohan?

The cover of Lindsay’s new cd bothered me, but have any of you seen the music video ‘Confessions of a Broken Heart’? She seems to be praying the rosary, and so is her sister (that is her sister, right?), and her mom. It doesn’t make sense to me that she is involved with Kabbala but prays the rosary.

I’m sure she knows how to use the rosary, as she was raised Catholic. We should pray for her that she sets a better example, and that she can grow past the example set by her family. Her father was arrested at a first communion party!:eek:

The thought came to me that this poor girl is probably hopelessly lost and searching for something–God! She probably doesn’t even realize it… Hopefully she does investigate the Rosary (rather than just using it as a prop) and finds out the truth about Kabbala. Have you heard Fr. Corapi’s conversion story? He said just one Hail Mary a day 🙂

:eek: :eek: :eek: Ahhhh…hmmmm… now that I’ve recovered from that shock, what IS her mother thinking? Not to mention her! How can they trade the True Presence of Jesus Himself for a red string on their arms?!? However, Fr. Corapi was raised Catholic too, so there’s always hope 😃
 
No problem. I was already on a Lindsay Lohan boycott, anyway, since I never paid a cent for any of her products (if she has any), or for any of her movies. She doesn’t exist in my world. 🙂
 
I thought Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen was cute, and I am thinking of watching Freaky Friday… but I’ll get it from the library.

Lindsay’s no angel, but I don’t think she’s a terribly immoral person either. I do hope she finds God.

Yes, I noticed her clutching the rosary throughout the video and wondered what that was about. Hmm. I thought it was about her as a little girl, watching her parents fight and holding onto it. It’d be nice if she came back to the church but…Hollywood has a grip on stars that makes them forget their roots sometimes I think. Madonna was raised Catholic too, as we all well know…well, we should remember her and others that are distant to the church in our prayers.
 
What I got from the video was her dad abusing her mom while she was in the next room helpless as a child, not able to do anything but listen to her dad beat/verbally abuse her mom. And this was going on as if in a display while window shopping because the world knows all about her problems and the trouble her dad has got in to.

I remember at one point you couldn’t look at a magazine cover without seeing her and her dad on the front or turning on a tv and not hearing about her dad getting arrested or missing his court dates yadda yadda yadda.

I don’t quite understand why she made this video because her first video was called “Rumors” and was preaching about how she would like to be left alone and whining about how she has no privacy… Yet she makes a music video illustrating a very painful point in her life for everyone to see. It is a pretty heart-breaking video for a teeny bopping pop star though.

Anyways, I know why this bothers you because I went to see the movie “Four Brothers” and I remember a part in the movie where Mark Waughlberg’s (sp?) character is on his way to kill someone to get revenge while holding a rosary. And that did bug me.

If it makes you feel any better, she’s really not involved with Kabbalah either. She’s apparently involved in something hucksters who pander to spoiled celebrities are calling Kabbalah, but Kabbalah it ain’t.

Looks pretty pornographic to me… I’m sure this picture causes quite a few impure thoughts for people, and the way the Rosary is hanging makes it look intentionally sinful, sort of like she’s turning her back on God to do her own naked thing. But that’s just my take on it 😦

You may be right, but the cd’s title is ‘A Litte More Personal’. I think her exposing so much skin is symbolizing how she is revealing her inner self to the world. Kind of like Christina Aguilera’s ‘Stripped’ cd.

I am wondering what the red on her back means.
 
Just another lost child who got caught up with fame and fortune of Hollywood. Living the life just like any other stupid celebrities.

I take exception with an attitude that completely removes a person from thier world. Would Jesus boycott a lost sheep? I’m not talking about spending money. But a way to live one’s life to exclude the lost and only embrace the found, what merit is there? Even thieves do that.

It’s called “junk Kabbalah” as “real” Kabbalah can’t be learned until men are like 30 or 40 (can’t remember which) years old and extremely knowledgeable in the Scriptures (Old Testament, of course). Anyone who would wear the red string would have no qualms about using the rosary as “jewelry.” I think even more offensive than this rosary used as a “necklace” thing is Madonna wearing a humongous cross around her neck.

It looks like the Chinese character for life, living, lifetime; birth. I’m not sure what the red dot on top is about though, it could change the meaning.
