Hi everyone,
My sister (27) and her boyfriend (30) met on a dating website. They have officially been boyfriend-girlfriend for a little over a week now. I have never met her boyfriend, only from what she tells me about him. My sister has kept herself pure all these years, but her boyfriend hadn’t. They are going on a vacation next week to New Orleans (which is about a 3 or 4 hour drive away), and staying in separate hotel rooms. She is paying for her own room.
I told her that I deeply disapprove, especially after only dating for less than a month. She said that it is like going on a vacation with a friend. I told her that it is different. But she wouldn’t listen to me. She said that I’m a prude.
I’ve been married for almost 16 years to the first person that I ever dated. We were both pure when we married. I guess I just expect my sister to be more like how I was - never kissing around and all that.
I just don’t want my sister to be in a situation that might cause her to sin, if you know what I mean.
Any advice? Am I being too “old fashioned”?
Thanks!
