I wasn’t sure if this went here or in vocations but here it is.
Months ago my boyfriend and I attended a LifeTeen mass at a friend’s church and he told me he thinks God wants him to be a priest. We did not discuss it at length but it has since been brought up, and he still feels that God has this plan for him and is very torn on the issue.
He doesn’t want to become a priest, but feels he has no choice, and that eventually he’ll begin to see the good in it and learn to enjoy it.
I think if he does this, he’ll be making the biggest mistake of his life and always mourn the loss of the family life he’s actually called to.
It’s very difficult for me to sit and wait to see whether or not this relationship is a time-bomb as he tries to figure out what it is he’s going to do.
I’m not Catholic and I don’t think I could just sit down and take losing him to religious practices I don’t even agree with.
How can I support him even if I think he’s making a huge mistake?
