Never forget, The name Francis, is also the name of one of the Jesuit’s greatest saints, St. Francis Xavier.
As for change, you betcha! The major change is going to be based on the report on the Curia that the last Pope commissioned, and left unread when he abdicated. Based on some of the “dirt” that has been leaked in the Italian press, I do believe there is going to be a house cleaning. So, don’t be too surprised when you read that there are going to be a number of high ranking clergy, including a number of Cardinals retireing or entering monestaries or other long term retreat facilities. There may even be laicisation of several members if the Vatican staff. All of this will be done very quietly over a long period of time so as not to cause a public scandal.
And, considering that the new Pope is a Jebbie, I’d bet that there is going to be a doctrinal tightening up of that order, especially in their American Universities. And, believe me that this Pope will not tolerate turning these Universities to a lay Board of Directors in order to evade Church control.
