Christians never killed Jews in Nazi Germany, but many Christians were killed just the same.
John Paul forgave his would be killer, I am not so quick to do that. Islam is a religion from satan, that’s that. They killed at 911 and I knew someone there, so WHATEVER YOU SAY, I HOPE THIS FALSE RELIGION FALLS OFF THE MAP NEVER TO RETURN. I have much anger in me and if I could join this holy war, I would. I would do what was done to my Christian brothers and sisters that day in New York to every Muslim I came in contact with.

Oppression is worse than killing.

But most of the violence, by any account, is certainly UNJUST. I don’t think you can find a single instance of violence by Muslims in the world today that is just. Not one.

I am a Muslim. I had no part in 9/11, but mourned with every other American that day and thereafter for the horrible tragedy.

But you would kill me? Blow me up? Frankly, that’s kind of scary.

That’s funny, because both Pope John Paul II (see Ivan Karamozov’s post a few days ago) and President Gordon B Hinckley (See Peterson, Daniel (2007). Muhammad, Prophet of God. Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Company. ISBN 0802807542. ) have praised Muhammad (saw) publicly for his tolerance, mercy, justice, progressive attitude, and enlightened ideas which helped bring the world closer to understanding God, from the Catholic and Mormon perspectives.

I’m inclined to believe what I read from a wide variety of sources, including competent spiritual authorities and the secular historical record. I’m not inclined to take internet blowhards and hatemongers seriously. I suppose that’s the difference between you and I.

You need to go see either your priest, or your psychoanalyst, right quickly. Preferably both, but either one will probably be able to help you with this desire of yours.

All those things are in Islamic sources, and you can’t even tell the difference between good and evil since you don’t even see anything offensive in the Quran!

When I read Al-Qur’an, I read it in context. In that regard, I don’t consider the contents offensive.

Muhammad was in a position to take revenge many times during the course of his life. He never seems to have done so. To Muhammad, spreading the message he received from God was always more important than satisfying petty grudges.

My religious leaders, and your religious leaders too, have acknowledged this. The historical record supports it. It seems like you’re relying upon hate sites on the internet, compiled by people with an axe to grind, to learn about Islam. That is your right, but it’s no way to get good information.

LaMar, easy for you to say as you didn’t know anyone that day…I KNEW ONE WHO DIED THAT DAY AND HE JUMPED OUT OF HIS OFFICE WINDOW. He was one who fell to his death…AND FOR WHAT??? IN THE NAME OF GOD??? I’m sorry but I have NO SYMPATHY for any Muslim. I am done with this thread. goodbye.

No, I wouldn’t kill you. I wouldn’t kill period for the love of Christ. But if there were a holy war against Muslim and Christian, I would think otherwise.

Mountains have their own angels? :rolleyes: It is more likely M made this story up to save face. An angel of God offering to destroy a whole town for insulting Mohammad sounds more like wishful thinking on his part.

Actually my wife’s family are originally from the lower east side of NYC and from the Boro Park area across the river. We did have friends and relatives all over town that day. None inside the buildings, thank goodness.

When I said “I wish you peace” I wasn’t being sarcastic or snide. (Many here prefer that style of conversation, I do not.)

You really ought to go seek out counseling (religious or secular, preferably both) if you feel that way.

My thoughts are with the families of all the people (Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Atheist) who have suffered in the name of extremism, wherever they are.

Part of the real danger of terrorism is that it tends to lower everyone, on all sides of the conflict, to the lowest common denominator of bestial behavior. I don’t like any of it.

Again: I wish you peace. And, like the first time, I mean that sincerely.

I must apologize for my comments as I hurt inside when I think of 911. I hope you understand. I am really not angry per se, just whenIi think about it which is never…If a Muslim or anyone were to be dying on the street, I would help that person. Again, I am sorry for my comments.

There is nothing funny about teaching your children to pray. We - Catholics and Muslims - think it is quite noble.

But in the context of this thread and video, do you think it’s wise to teach racial hatred?

Please tell me, Humanist; Do you condemn or condone the video?
