Gimme gimme gimme! I am drooling for a set of those in our parish.

I remember watching this video from the same organisation a couple of years ago on what is (and what is not) authentic Catholic music. I’m delighted to see that the young woman seems to have had a beautiful baby in the meantime 🙂

This is unbelievable! So this has the propers for both the OF and EF.

I have to see if my parish knows about this!

I am drooling in desire for my parish to buy these. I have no idea what kind of hymnals will be used as of yet, but I so wish the Vatican II Hymnal is chosen.

I am going to love the day when I see a liberal Catholic elated, holding a hymnal which proudly flaunts the phrase, “Vatican II,” then is utterly horrified when he sees the, to him, completely ironic contents, ha.

This is an amazing project. I doubt my parish would buy them, but I really wish they would.

Wow. That’s fantastic. A great move forward [forward as in correct - not forward as in the modernist sense].

My own parish recently announced new Hymnals. I was so excited. I thought “Yay! This protestant Catholic combination hymnal is no more!”. I was shocked to find out that all we got was an updated edition called “A hymnal for all”. Yeah, it has a few Catholic hymns, a few latin hymns (never sung, of course) but overwhelmingly awful - and the “Parish Music Director” announced they will be with the parish for “at least 20 more years”. It’s most annoying because inside the hymnals are the old version of the gloria which we have been using at Mass despite the new translations. Today we sung about the “breath of God” and some other hymn about clapping our hands at the spirit of joy or something. Anyway, happy to say that my time with this parish will be over soon enough. Come January I will be with the monks of Papa Stronsay assisting at the EF Mass where none of this hymnal stuff will matter 😃

If my parish starting using this I have a feeling the half the people would sit there scratching their heads in bewilderment and the other half would storm out in a rage and flock to the local Episcopal or United Methodist church. Maybe that’s an exaggeration, but I also don’t expect to see anything like this adopted here.

If only Catholics in the pews were more like internet Catholics. Sigh…

For the time being we are sticking with our current hymnals despite the translation change, the idea being that the second generation of post-translation change hymnals will probably be better than the first generation.

This is just beautiful, and has the potential to be transformational if parishes see this as a good opportunity to improve the state of music in the Chuch. It seems to contain all ones needs whatever type of mass one attends. Great to have all the propers, and as far as the hymns, I’m glad to see the modern ones have gone, but that they have retained the best traditional ones from across the denominations. What amazing value for $19. I want one now!!

Wow, that looks so great. Oh, I hope our parish would use them. I would love it. I think I will be praying about this one.
