I like to write creatively. I wrote this one book with a very christianized element to it. This may confuse people but sometimes in the back of my mind I have trouble controlling what I think. I’ll just be thinking and my mind turns on to auto I gues you could say. I’ll be deeply thinking to myself and then it’s like i’m talking to God and i’m reallly not. For some reason it’s really hard to control but my mind just puts an “I promise” infront of some things I do. I sent my story to a publishing house and did that exactly. I promised that if it was rejected that I would not try to get it published. The only problem is that sometimes I really think that God wants me to get it published. I can’t lie to God although I have before. I guess I just need a spiritual directore.
thanks for bearing with me
You have a talent and you know God gave you that talent. I admire and thank God for your talent, how wonderful it must be to be able to write a book.
It is always a very tense thing to submit a creative work for someone else to analyse and await whether they will accept or reject it. I am an artist and I know it is always a tense moment for me when I show someone one of my paintings. I want them to like it but I also want good comments that will help me to improve it, another eye on the subject is always a good thing.
I don’t think you are lying to God. I think your thoughts prior to submitting your work is a pre-submission anxiety reaction. It’s normal for creative people to want to create something good and its deflating when work isn’t accepted, there is always a certain amount of creative angst.
I would persevere; I am all for persevering. Most artists are not recognised in their time and it is only their dogged perseverance that means that we have the great masters to look back on, they were not detered by what at first seems like failure, they persevered and carried on creating and submitting their works.
You too must persevere, as a writer you are a creator and God has gifted you with a special share in His Divine nature to have the ability to create. You carry on and try resubmitting it to another publisher who may be more favourable to your works.
What is the nature of your work?
Next time you submit your work instead of fretting and worrying yourself as you have this time, humbly pray to God and entrust your work to Him offering everything you do as a prayer to Him and trust Him in all you do.
I have every faith that in perseverance and prayer you will succeed in your work which will glorify God.
In my Living Prayer of my life.
