Hi everyone,

I am sure that if I wanted a modern day psychology book to help break bad habits, I could find tons of them. Does anyone know of a Catholic/Christian one. Or the patron saint of breaking bad habits?

Thanks

Angie

I don’t know about breaking bad habits, but St. Jude is the patron saint of “impossible” cases. Then there’s St. Dymphna, my favorite patron saint, who is the patron saint for mental health. This, I take it, would help with peace of mind and all of that. I’m sure others can offer saints for similar causes.

As for good books, I’m not sure. I’m sure there are some, but titles are escaping me right now.

Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance & direction to overcome your bad habits.

Pax Christi!

Repentant sinners (and for us, sins are bad habits) can always turn to St. Mary Magdalene. Not sure if this helps.

God bless.

Read Addiction and Grace, by Gerald May. It’s not perfect, and it’s not Catholic, but it’s very good.

Prayer and fasting are always a winner. Also practice the virtue that negates the vice.
