I know that I have broken my word – TO GOD – in MANY ways…
I suppose the most eminent way is in saying “I love You” and then sinning, or not putting in place measures to fulfill His will (which is almost like PLANNING to sin - to fail to plan is to plan to fail), AND to stay away from sin. This makes my words “I love You” mean nothing, I suppose, and I have broken my word. The standard of God is very high… and I feel I have become like the Hebrews…
Another is that I have made many resolutions to fast (I used to fast often) and then broken those resolutions, leading me to no longer trust in myself… but I know that it says somewhere that a person who is erring should be avoided to make him feel ashamed, but afterwards to reinstate him so that he is not overcome with sorrow, and I am afraid that this has happened with me… I feel pulverized completely…
now there are times I learn things and forget them, and I remind myself of the Scripture that says,
“…always learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the Truth, men of depraved minds…”
can someone please help me get out of this tailspin?
