Breaking sports team eligibility requirements

I’m on a school sports team and the league has certain requirements for eligibility. I do not meet some of the requirements; for example, it says you must not have ever consumed alcohol, which I have done in small amounts as a kid. Would it be sinful to participate on the team if I do not meet some eligibility requirements and have not signed the contract binding me to the league’s year-round code of conduct rules? I REALLY don’t want to have to quit the team. This is rather urgent, as I have a game tomorrow.

Don’t quit the team! As long as you’re currently not doing anything to harm the team or your health, you’re okay. If you partied and drank every weekend, then maybe I’d tell you to reconsider. I don’t think they’re concerned with little bits of alcohol in the past, they just want to try to keep the team to some standards. Don’t get too wrapped up in semantics; look at the bigger picture. Use common sense with these things.

I also need a check-up at the doctor’s office within a certain amount of time, which I haven’t done, but am going to soon. I have a game between then and now, though.

I think you need to talk to your coach and explain the situation and follow their instructions.

I really don’t think that they’ll care. I will say that I don’t have the form in. They’ll likely just think I’m weird for caring at all about this kind of stuff. Would be sinful to Play in today’s game?

Not having been and playing a game might be enough to automatically disqualify your team for that game in some leagues, so you definitely need to speak with the coach about it.

You need to find out if they care, that’s really not your call. And say you were ineligible to play and played anyways and someone from the other team found out, you could force your team to forfeit the game, worse case scenerio. Better for the coach to be thoroughly informed and make the judgement call and say it was not that important than to withhold the information all together because you didn’t think they’d care. And yes it could be sinful if you are deliberately trying to deceive your coaches.
