This site is selling the Breviery but as you can see, in this sample page, the book of Isaiah is abbreviated as “Cap”, its clearly visible on the left hand page and I dont understand why? Am I mistaken? Shouldnt it be ‘Isa’ or something?

hmm that is quite odd. I would think it would be ISA as well

“Cap” is the abbreviation for “chapter” in Latin (capitulus?? my vocab’s no good without a lexicon near by for a crutch.) I suspect that the name of the book (Isaiah) is not printed above the reading because it is the third reading for that particular hour and is taken from the same book (Isaiah) as the second reading (and possibly the first.)

If you look at the Gospel readings for Matins on Christmas Eve on the facing page, you’ll see that the name of the particular Gospel is given only once for two readings (at the first reading) because the second reading is a continuation of the first.

This is correct. The title “De Isaia Propheta” would be given before the first Lesson with the chapters only indicated at the side of each title i.e. “Lectio i”, “Lectio ii”, etc., since all are taken from that book.

If for example, Lesson i is taken from Isaiah, and Lesson ii and iii from Acts then the sequence would be:
De Isaia Propheta
Lectio i Cap xxxxxx
Reading, responsory, etc.

De Actibus Apostolorum
Lectio ii Cap xxxxx
Reading, responsory, etc.

Lectio iii Cap xxxxxx
Reading, responsory.
