I just had some sect come to my door, i have no idea what church they are from and want to find out who they are.
They claim in revelation 22:17 That when the spirit and the ‘bride’ come, they claim this is the bride of Jesus?
I mean, i cracked up laughing at them when i heard this, but im curious to know, anyone know what religion this is?
Thanks

“Bride of the church??” I think this is fundamentally wrong.

The Church is the Bride of Jesus.

Perhaps that’s what they meant to say - that the Church is the Bride of Jesus, in which case they’d be totally correct. 🤷

Unfortunately no, they went on to say the Jesus will bring his wife with him to earth… hmmmmm

Mrs Jesus - or should that be Mrs Bar Joseph? Or maybe Mrs Bar Yahweh? :rotfl:

There isn’t anything in scripture saying Jesus and wife will return on the Last Day.

Did you ask who exactly this wife of Jesus was?

No, when i said i was catholic and that their understanding of the bride was incorrect, they walked off…

Here’s part of their problem…they have omitted part of the text in order to come up with whatever they are trying to say…

17 And the spirit and the bride say: Come. And he that heareth, let him say: Come. And he that thirsteth, let him come: and he that will, let him take the water of life, freely.

As to what they mean to show by their assertion, I have no clue. You could have pointed them to verse 19 of the same chapter:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from these things that are written in this book.
