Yes. I’ve never known a priest to ask the religion of the witnesses.Can a lady of a Protestant denomination be a bridesmaid, a maid of honor or a matron of honor in a Catholic lady’s wedding?

Yes. Unless they are designated as a “witness”, they serve no liturgical function. If they are so designated, they need to be of sound mind to understand and testify at what they have witnessed, but do not have to be Catholic to do so.

Very true. In our village the witnesses were often the fathers of the bride and groom. No worry about slighting anyone when you do that!Yes. And it doesn’t even have to be a lady – a bride can have a man as her honor attendant.
Until the late 60s there were usually no more than the bride & groom and their two witnesses in the weddin party.
