Does anyone know of a good, orthodox program that is designed to be offered at the parish level to bring fallen away Catholics back to the Church? I’ve only heard of one called “Catholics Returning Home” by Sally Mews. Anyone heard of this one? Opinions please.

Yes…that is the program by Sally Mews. I believe it is orthodox and a good one.
 
Revisiting the Journey by Liguori is 4 sets of “handouts” each on one section of the CCC, and its format is modelled on their handouts for RCIA, Journey of Faith. We have used it both for CAtholics who ask for “RCIA for Catholics” that is, who want to learn more in a systematic way, and for “returning home” CAtholics, usually those baptized and having received first communion, but needing Confirmation and systematic adult catechesis.
 
Is there something for Catholics a bit weak in their faith?

My beloved parents are both Catholic and they believe in all the essentials. However they don’t attend Mass every week (though they say they wish the did) and they don’t know that much about the Church itself. I’m trying to bring them closer to to the faith, but its tough and kind of awkward. I need to explain my position to them, but at the same time I want to honor them and not criticise them in any way (especially since they have been so great to me). Any suggestions?
 
I would recommend any book by Scott Hahn. He has opened the faith up for me and “connected more dots” than any other Catholic writer. The Lamb’s supper is superb and so is Swear to God. If your folks could better appreciate what they are missing by not attending mass every week, they may start going more regularly. Scott Hahn is a wonderful pulic speaker also. I had my folks listen to one of his tapes and they were captivated.

Thanks!🙂 I’m probably going to buy a copy or two for them.
 
Suggest they watch EWTN especially The Journey Home. It’s about converts to Catholicism, but I find it very edifying to hear their stories. Maybe you could tape a few shows for them.

I know it can be difficult being a witness to family members; I have sons who no longer practice, one who does.

Attending a Catholic Conference is also a great way to Go Into the Deep!
