On June 23, 2006 our family came to an end. People morn because their children die. Our children are alive and I morn. Our two granddaughters were visiting that week end. We had the best time. The jokes were flying…these girls are quick witted and can snap and answer back quickly and it is funny. When the father came to get one of the girls, she relayed to him that I and my oldest daughter had said evil things about her family. This never happened. It was as though we were broad sided by a semi-turck. We have not seen out daughter or her family since. Also she talked our sons into believing the situation is true. They also do not speak to us. So we have been reduced from a family of 7 to a family of 3.
One of our sons is getting married in August. He contacts my husband via e-mail. He expects us to attend, but no one is talking to us.

I am sorry that your children are treating you this way. Have you tried praying a novena to St. Jude? I don’t know how someone could go two years without speaking to their parents. I will keep you in my prayers.

There’s more to this story. People in solid, healthy family relationships do not abandon them after one conflict~which in this case appears to be a misunderstanding based on hearsay from a child. I’m sorry for the rift in your family, but it just doesn’t add up that everyone would jump ship that easily…

I am so thankful for a reply to my family crisis. A few close friends and relatives have told me the same thing…that there has to be a bigger problem. The daughter who is not talking to us never got along with our oldest daughter. In fact the younger daughter went back to high school days (35 years back) to make this problem more intense.

This is so sad.
I intend to keep your family in my prayers.

May God find a way to heal your family relationships.

Thank you Trishie…this is what we need…prayers…we have 5 children and
4 of them are fallen away Catholics and the only one who follows her Catholic religion is our daughter who has not spoken to us for almost 3 years…she is not getting what it means to follow Jesus.
