Why not break away from Rome and and form their own “Catholic” church?
I don’t understand these people. They believe being Catholic is about “breaking the rules” and defying the bishops. Why not then just leave them and form their own church? (guess they wouldn’t keep the church building then).
For the last who knows how many years these two men have been permitted by their bishops to conduct invalid baptisms, preside over services which in no way resemble the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and generally lead their flock astray. The word ’ millstones’ seems appropriate here.
The local Trades Hall has offered them a place to conduct their services; I imagine this would be a temporary measure.
I imagine that if these men are excommunicated they will no longer be paid by their dioceses, have rent free accommodation or have their health care paid for… They will either have to seek gainful employment or the shortfall will have to be made up from the collection plate. These considerations may be weighing on their minds as they decide whether to establish their own breakaway church or not.
This is so sad. Breaking the rules, authority? Jesus railed against authority? WHERE??? Satan railed against authority! He won’t prevail though!
This looks like the same MO as authors like Frs Richard Rohr or Ronald Rolheiser in the reinterpreting scripture and tradition in light of modernism and their own wants and desires, but without the seat of the Holy Spirit, the chair of Peter. Don’t be disturbed though, The true faithful are under the protection of our Blessed Mother, those who are humble.
It really isn’t a threat to our Church, it just disturbs us due to those led astray. They’re just joining the club of heretics leading themselves to perdition as has happened since day one of creation. Heresy defines and highlights orthodoxy, let those with ears hear. The test of the faithful. Pray for them and yourselves. Guard your faithnpatrol:
