Hi, I suffer from scrupulosity. I’m always afraid to make promises to God. Most of the times, I feel like I’m making promises but these are just thoughts. But one day, I broke and promised to God out loud to never play with my playstation again (pretty stupid but I was afraid to promise that and it came as a compulsion to vow). Right after, I’m afraid I may have said out loud again that I was giving up another hobby (nothing sinful). The problem is that the second hobby is something very dear to me. It’s the only thing that make me happy and I’m feeling totally depressed to even think I have to give up on it. I feel like crying everyday.
Yesterday, I broke once again and my vows took on what I was the most afraid of and I end up promising out loud (it was not really talking, it was more making noises with my throat while keeping my mouth closed but I was still making noises) that I will kill myself or someone else (I precise I would prefer to burn in hell than doing harm to others), stopping believing in Christ, accusing others of having done terrible things they didn’t do etc.
Do you think God could forgive me for these promises and, more importantly, don’t bind me to them anymore? I’m totally desperate right now
