No, it’s not. That’s superstition.

I’m sure there’s someone who can fix them for you, but it might have to wait until the pandemic calms down. Meanwhile, put them someplace safe, maybe in an envelope or bag so that no more parts are lost.

I am sure there is someone who can fix it, ask your parish priest if he knows it if theres a rosary group in your parish ask them. Also if your church has a Repository ask there, whoever runs it will know who they buy from and if they don’t know can likely find out for you. That’s how I’d find someone in my parish in the UK, of course you could look online too but it is often nicer to use someone found by word of mouth for something so treasured.

Also theres no such thing as bad luck. You can just keep the rosary as it is as a reminder of your grandmother. God rest her soul.

I agree, after the pandemic restrictions

(Shhhhh! Catholics don’t believe in bad luck or good luck superstitions!) 😇

Here’s my best suggestion—I don’t know how to do links, but type into your search engine: Our Lady’s Rosary Makers. Scroll over all the choices.

Call these wonderful people or email them. Show them a close-up photo. I’m betting that you can work something out with them. Since they’re a very benevolent non-profit ministry and worthy of our support, I know they’d appreciate a donation. Who knows? Maybe they’ll recruit you! They’re truly terrific people! (I once lived near them.)

Best wishes! Let us know what happens. 😇

Find someone local who makes jewelry that they maybe sell at the market or on Etsy. Anyone with basic wire skills can fix a broken rosary. The arts and crafts shop can even guide you to the simple tools and supplies. Look up “beading with eye loop” on You Tube

Even if they were missing half the beads, if it was your grandmother’s why would you get rid of them? They are a reminder of her for you. Cherish them as you would a letter from her. Leave them on your night stand in a nice box if you don’t repair them and as a reminder of her whenever you see it. There is no reason to relate anything to bad luck in Catholicism.
