Broken Rosary

My first rosary - dearly loved, and taken everywhere with me - is no more. It snapped, the other day, and I am heartbroken. I would hate anyone to think that this is a hint that I would like to be bought another! I don’t know any of you well enough for that, ha ha. I just ask for your prayers and kind words in my sadness.

I plan to get another as soon as is financially possible.

What kind of rosary is it? When you say it “snapped” what do you mean? I make rosaries, the regular ones with chain links, not wire wrapped, and also repair them.

This is rosary is precious to you, I’m sure any jeweller could easilyl repair it.

It sounds like the jump-rink (usually small circles) is what broke. Am I right?

You can try re stringing it yourself – even if all you have is fishingline around and use seed beads (very small beads) to get spacing.

Can you use a link from another medal and replace the one on the rosary? I do this with needle nose pliers all the time. Tim

That sounds like a jump ring just snapped in two. It is an easy fix; any jeweller could do it, or if you go to a crafts store near you, they will have the little rings that are needed to replace the broken one. It is a simple process–someone at the store might even be able to help you…

just use some needle nose pliers and twist the metal. Mine always breaks from constant use. I am sure that that is what happened to yours.
