I recently went to a Carmelite priest to be enrolled in the brown scapular. We stood in front of the blessed sacrament and he did not say the traditional prayers for enrollment; he did at the end say to wear this scapular as armor against the evil one and we then both recited the our father and Hail Mary then blessed ourselves; he then placed the scapular on me. Is this a valid enrollment?

Go ahead and wear the scapular for now and practice Carmelite spirituality. When you have another chance to be enrolled in the Scapular by a Carmelite priest or other traditional priest, or one associated with Blue Army, etc, just enroll again.
If you have a Carmelite monastery in your area, that’s a good place to have it done.

A Carmelite priest enrolled me. The prayers were specific and outlined responsibilities, i.e. praying the Rosary or the Little Office of the Virgin Mary every day; and wearing the scapular all the time. Once you’re enrolled, you don’t need to have a new scapular blessed.
