I’m not sure if I found the right forum, but I have a question. Well, first a comment and then a question. I am currently in RCIA and am working for entrance into the Church on Easter of 2011. I understand from reading that I will not gain indulgence from the wearing of the brown scapular but am wondering if there would be anything wrong with wearing it as an outward sign of my devotion to the faith? Any advice or comment would be great.

P.S.- I’m glad to be on the forum. 👍

Go right ahead and wear the Brown scapular. Ask your priest that when you come into the church if you can be “invested” in the Brown scapular. He should be able to arrange to do the ceremony. Its short and beautiful.

Of course you can wear the Brown Scapular!! I was told protestants could too and still receive graces. You can’t receive the sacraments until you become Catholic but you can wear sacramentals. Just like you are allowed to bless yourself with Holy Water.

BTW Congrats and welcome home!

Thanks for the responses. I thought that might be the case but wanted to make sure. Thanks all.
