Bruce is having major surgery 6/10

Have seen people recover from alot, praying for a strong recovery for Bruce.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.

Wow, Bruce has had to suffer much in such a short period of time. Im in awe, in his courage to push forward with all these set backs. I question myself if I would go ahead if faced with similiar situation, I guess Im weak minded. May I ask how old Bruce is?

Bruce is 57 years old. He and his wife were married just before he was shipped to Vietnam in 1969. He was in the Navy and they were happily married for 23 years but did not conceive a child. In 1992 that child (a miracle) became a reality.

That child “Clint” is the reason Bruce is fighting this cancer! His wife left him as soon as Clint was born because Bruce is an alcoholic. She never remarried and neither did he. They live 1 mile apart and have done a fantastic job putting Clint through Catholic school.
 
Bruce had another surgery this morning. Evidently the blood flow was obstructed. They corrected it. He has received two units of blood.

HE IS OFF THE VENTILATOR as of tonight!!! :extrahappy:

He is awake and oriented!!! He is using a dry erase board to communicate with his nurses.

May God continue to draw Bruce to physical and spiritual health. Mary pray with us. Amen. :signofcross:
 
Thank you all so much for your prayers!

Bruce is still in SICU but, he is doing very well considering all that has happened.

He was sitting in a chair tonight with the assistance of his nurses. He still has one on one nursing care 24 hrs. a day.

I have let him know that you all are praying for him. The nurse held the phone to his ear today while I talked to him. She said he was smiling!
 
Lord of the Powers be with us, for in times of distress we have no other help but You.
Lord of the Powers, have mercy on and heal your servant.

Praying for Bruce and his family.

O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.
 
Still prayin for Bruce’s recovery and that God will lessen his (and your) anxiety…
 
Eternal Father, I offer you the body, blood, soul and divinity of your dearly beloved son our Lord Jesus Christ, for Bruce. May the blood of your crucified Son bathe him in its healing balm and may it cleanse and heal him, body and soul. We pray dear Father that you look on Bruce with mercy and love and with a healing glance. Amen.
 
Bruce is progressing pretty well!!!

His nurses are impressed with him…

They did tell me tonight that he wrote them a note that said he thought he would get to see his son for Father’s Day. Unfortunately, that won’t happen. His ex-wife won’t take his 16 year old son to see him because she is afraid it would be horrible to see your father in that kind of shape. I feel that she is really over protecting a 16 year old… Of course, I’m not his mother.

Please continue to pray for Bruce and his son.

How wonderful that Bruce is recovering …and how sad that his ex won’t bring his son to see him on Father’s Day. I’m still praying for Bruce and I’ll add a prayer for his ex as well (and his son) (and you)…Let Bruce Know that he is loved and in our prayers. My candle will be lit for you guys (as always) as mass this morning.
 
Thank You God for the healing that has already occurred. Jesus, please continue to heal Bruce, and restore his health. Please give him back his life.
Mother Mary, please persuade the mother to bring Bruce’s son to see him. Please encourage his son to desire so much to see his Dad that his mother can’t resist letting him see or contact his Dad in a very loving, consoling way.
 
Bruce is still in my prayers, and I will be praying for his wife to realize that his son needs to see his father as much as Bruce needs to see his son. Sixteen is not too young to see the realities of life.
