Recently discovered my father is from Russian Ancestry from the district of Bryanskaya Oblast…

What is the state of the Church there?

This oblast is between Belarus, Rossia and Ukraina. It is just north of my native birth city of Belhorod. There are many beautiful churches including this one built in 2003 on site of one destroyed:

We found this out through Y-DNA testing and string comparisons with ethnic populations and by far our Y-DNA match ethnic populations in Bryanskaya, Western Russia.

I’m part Russian! 👍
 
I have heard of this world-wide DNA mapping endeavor to attempt to trace the origins of man. I’ve never met anyone who was involved in it. You’ve got hollywood status, IMO!😃

Earlier studies on mitochondrial DNA have traced a certain gene to an original woman (singular) from Africa.

They also speak of a Y-Chromsomal Adam too.
