Am sorry it has taken me so long to answer but I have trouble getting to the right place to read responses. I so appreciate everyone’s advise. Just having people to talk to you helps. I did call my son last week. We just talked about what was going on, nothing important. it went well. However, I have not received any communication from my daughter-in-law. Next week my son is having both families down to his house for my granddaughter’s B-day. Am anxious about how that is going to go. My husband wants to give my sons kids holy cards the next time he sees them. Under usual circumstances, it would be fine, but I think it would irritate the situation. of course, the kids are young and will be confused. I just can’t believe our son said his kids are not receiving their 1st Communion!!! Thanks again. God bless all of you. I hope I can get on the right site to read any responses. Obviously, I’m not computer savey. There’s hope for everybody.

Is your husband actually going? Hmmm. Well, it’s a start, as long as he behaves himself.

Maybe you could pre-empt the holy cards by picking out something with Jesus on it. Non-denominationals love Jesus, we love Jesus. A good place to start, instead of tear a bigger hole, would be something or Someone in common.

I’m glad you’re talking to your son. I will remember to pray for you all and this event.
