Japanese Buddhism also has a long history of monks mentoring young boys they take in as homosexual lovers. They wrote poetry on this stuff I think. To them there was nothing immoral with either male-on-male sex or older men having sex with young boys. Older monks with young boys at that.
Pederasty wasn’t confined to just monks; it was (or is) a larger, long-established feature of Japanese culture as a whole.

I would agree that the Jesus Prayer is a fine prayer for meditation.

I think that there are many other prayers and methods of worship that a Buddhist would find comfortable. Certainly, our use of praying with prayer beads is common. Also, one might look to Centering Prayer. We also have disciplines of silence where we wait for the gentle breeze of the Spirit to teach us.
Have you tried Saying the Jesus Prayer, which is the closest approach to basic Buddhist meditation I have seen within Christianity?

I have said and heard of that prayer. I like the miraculous medal and divine mercy chaplet. I’m really looking for something to say before eating. A thanksgiving prayer.
