Recently I made my first confession in a long, long time.
I told a friend about my going back to confession. My friend told me that he had not been to confession in about a year.
As our conversation went on, I offered to give him a ride to the Church when I go for my next confession in about a week or so.
After the conversation, I was wondering if any of my CAF friends here have ever used the buddy system for going to confession? It is easy to procrastinate about going to confession when there is no one around to remind you that it is something that you need to do.
Thanks for the prayers from you my CAF brothers and sisters. 🙏✌️❤️
May the love and peace of Jesus Christ be with you all today!

My wife and I use a similar system. She asks when the last time I went was (knowing full well when it was) and then says, We need to go.

My parents used to take me, until I started driving is when I reminded myself. I often dont procrastinate for confession so no one reminds me, but a buddy system seems great if only I had one.

I remember going with my daughter one time to Confession. After we left the Church we talked about it and I found out that my daughter had confessed a mortal sin and received a penance lighter than I was given for confessing only a venial sin!
She had a good laugh at that.

I think the buddy system sounds great.

I suffer from a near-total lack of buddies for anything in my RL and the more so when it comes to Catholicism since the vast majority of my friends aren’t Catholic and I’m pretty sure most of them are no religion at all. But if you have somebody to be your Catholic sacraments buddy, then go for it.

I don’t procrastinate confessions because I do a lot of indulgence practice and in order to keep that up I have to go to confession every 20 days, so that keeps me on the straight and narrow.

I have had to ask a friend who had just confessed to wait in line instead of me as I needed to go to the sacristy and prepare for Mass. Someone asked him if he needed to go in again. 🤣 I had come early to church so that I could go to confession before I was on sacristy duty. The first two persons just took a very, very long time to confess.

We should work for “tale a friend to confession Saturdays.” 🙏✌️😀

One of my Sponsors took me to my 1st confession. (I thanked her by making us lunch.) She drove me there, (I was too nervous to drive myself and stood in line with me. I am forever grateful for that.

We are here for two reasons, to praise and serve God.
And to love and serve one another as brothers and sisters.
Hallelujah!

I’m glad to hear you went, well done!
That’s also very nice of you to offer to give someone a ride to confession. I often think half the battle of going is actually physically getting up and going and if someone helps with that then hey presto it’s easier 😉 Good for you.
