If we get the doubletalk on this, I think we may conclude it.

The headliners indicate nothing Gospel or Sacred about the music.

Is anyone here writing a complaint? Is it okay to write a complaint from half way across the country? Or is it not my place to do so?

You are Catholic - write a complaint from wherever you are.

Here is some reaction in the Buffalo News editorial pages.

Pro-lifers help no one by extolling hate, abuse

…Yet those were the words these folks were calling us with their signs and their voices. The people in front of the church call themselves pro-life. What a monumental joke that is. What a fraud they are. These people are pro-life as long as your life fits into their definition, their mold, of what they feel life should be.

Any deviation from their view of “normal” and there they are, magically appearing on the sidewalk like so many trolls in a “Lord of the Rings” film, protesting with their insulting sandwich boards filled with hateful slogans and slurs.

I think the president of our chorus said it best when interviewed by a local TV station. He stated that if you look at the numbers, the seven individuals outside in the cold, parading on the sidewalk, and compare them to the nearly 700 people inside the church, in the warm and loving atmosphere of good music, good feelings and love, that speaks volumes without saying a word.

Those seven people with their placards, signs and hate - and those like them - will always be out in the cold, no matter what the temperature may be.

Hundreds filled the church to support very worthy causes

Concert by Gay Men’s Chorus will help break down barriers

News missed the real story when covering chorus protest

Please help educate our folks here with Catholic teaching.

What were the seven protesting?

The fact that the choir was composed of homosexuals? If so, was the choir mingling with the audience to promote homosexuality, or was it there to sing?

The fact that proceeds of the concert were going to Habitat for Humanity and for renovation of the Catholic cathedral?

The fact that homosexuals had stepped foot in a Catholic Church?

Lisa N:
Why aren’t they performing at the UU ‘church’?
I give up. What’s the punch line?

Why isn’t the Buffalo Gay Mens Chorus Performing at the UU ‘church’?

I suspect, but could be wrong, that they performed there because the Cathedral is bigger than the UU church, and because it is one of the beneficiaries of the concert, allowing the audience to see what their donation was going for.

Thye seven were protesting that an opnely gay chorus was given platform to sing in a Catholic Church.

😃 BINGO!Yes, they better not dare try it again, or someone may try to TRIP them!! But they don’t mind the likes of Cardinal Law voting for a new pope or doing mass for the deceased pope. He’s repented you know.

A chaste homosexual has no need to declare publicly they are homosexual. They have exactly the same rights as anyone else. If they declare themselves it is to further the agenda.

Top Vatican Cardinal: Gay Marriage is “A Crime Which represents the Destruction of the World”

Gay Adoption “Destroy’s the Child’s Future” and is “An Act of Moral Violence Against the Child”
VATICAN, May 3, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - On the first business day after meeting privately with newly elected Pope Benedict XVI, Cardinal Alfonso López Trujillo, gave one of the strongest statements defending the traditional family in recent memory. The Cardinal, who was reinstated in his post as President of the Pontifical Council for the Family which he held under Pope John Paul II just after the election of Pope Benedict, met with the Pope Friday and on Monday gave an extensive interview to Fides news service on the subject of homosexual ‘marriage’.

Homosexual ‘Marriage’

Cardinal Trujillo said parliaments which “open the way for same sex ‘marriage’ . . . destroy piece by piece the institution of the family the most valuable heritage of peoples and humanity.” He explained, “In these unions there are no promises for the partners or for the children, no stability, nothing before society or God, but they demand all the benefits of authentic marriage.”

Duty to Refuse to Participate

**Cardinal Trujillo also spoke of conscientious objection. “This means a person can use his or her right to object out of conscience and refuse to comply with this crime which represents the destruction of the world.” **

The Cardinal went further noting a duty to refuse to participate in homosexual unions comparing it to the duty of Christian doctors “who refuse to carry out abortions”. He said, “All Christians, including state employees, have a duty to avail themselves of conscientious objection because the law of which we are speaking inflicts a deep moral wound on the Christian faith.”

I think most people think the UU’church’ was not large enough. I use the ‘church’ because if you actually read the IRS defnition of church they in no way qualify. I was raised by UU’s and let’s say their theology isn’t well formed…in fact non-existent. I think it’s a lovely group of socially conscious, often well educated and well spoken people but it is not a church.

I also cannot fathom why a chorus must let us all in on their sex life. Good grief TMI award.
