Yes, in the past DH was getting online to deal with the strain he felt from NFPing. I only found out b/c one night I actually got up to see why he hadn’t come to bed by 3 a.m. and found him watching it online. I’ll never forget it either b/c the kids and I had been recovering from the flu in the middle of the summer and it was the night before DH’s birthday and the following day he fell ill and I had to clean up after him when he didn’t make it to the bathroom.

He claims he doesn’t anymore and I don’t monitor. I have a feeling, though, that after his vasectomy things will only get worse and he’ll relapse to cope. The biggest hang-up with the computer is online gaming and lately, just watching episodes on HULU. He has lost jobs and been reprimanded at others for his poor attendance b/c he stays up too late. He claims he’s just a ‘night person.’ If I could, I’d set a timer on his computer to shut down at 1 a.m., but I’m not as savvy with the computer as he is. I set a timer on the t.v., but he has the password. As I said before, whatever I do, he just gets around it or rebels.

I wish he’d just stay off of the computer till the kids are in bed. He’s trying to go back to school, but what he’s doing is spending the evening doing schoolwork so that when everyone’s in bed, he can stay up watching games or t.v. In my mind, he’s using family time for work so as not to cut into his leisure time later, instead of just cutting back on his ‘me’ time. I’m talking 4-5 hours of uninteruppted time every night.

Gah! I want you to make this work, but seriously, he sounds like such a child.
