Burning of the written laws?

Can someone tell me if there is a place in the OT that God has the written laws burned? My son asked me where in the bible does it talk about the burning of the 206 books? I told him I had no idea. I have never heard of that.

There is the episode of a king ot the southern kingdom of Judah, Jehoiakim that burned the first scroll ot the book of Jeremiah. This prophet then instructed his disciple Baruch, a prophet himsef, to rewrite the scroll (Jeremiah 36:11-32, but v27-32 in particular). I know not of another instance of a burned scroll in the O.T.

What’s really interesting is that Jehoiakim was from the line of David, and Joseph was from the line of David through the line of Jehoiakim. Because of Jeremiah 36:30 (The LORD now says of Jehoiakim, king of Judah: No descendant of his shall succeed to David’s throne), Jesus could not have been the biological son of Joseph.

That’s quite good MUZHIK! As one looks at the genealogy of Jesus in Matt 1, a couple of things are evident: the genealogy did not intend to include every descendant (it omits descendants of Uzziah: Ahaziah, Joash, and Amaziah) and second, it lists Joseph as a descendant of Jechoniah(Coniah), also known as Jehoiachin, whose progeny were banned from occupying the seat of David. You are right, thru Joseph our Lord Jesus could not have been able to occupy the Messianic throne of David.
