Hi,
I risk being looked at as a fanatic and I must admit it worries me too.
The recent issue of Qu’ran about to be burnt by some unknown Church put Catholic Church’s reputation again in great danger as the whole world think of Vatican the moment the word Church is uttered. It is therefore a moral duty of everyone to do everything in their best to prevent this incident.
I just read the news about almost all important heads of states condemning this act and asking US govt to do everything possible to stop it. It seems the country that sent troops halfway across the world to teach “justice and morality” is terribly helpless to act legally against someone who put peace and harmony ( in a sense national security) at risk. I mean, aren’t there any court or lawyers in US ?
But the world seems again raising voice against it not because they believe burning Qu’ran is not Ok, but scared of Muslims. And the Muslim world echoes the sentiment " well you know, Christians are peaceful so you cannot do this, rise up to the expectations, but we are not sure if we can be so peaceful" .
I was wondering of Islam was such a peaceful, forgiving and compassionate religion, what better time than this to prove it?
I do not want the Qu’ran to be burnt, if it happens even after all the efforts to stop it, Can’t Muslims( leaders) say, categorically, that we condemn it and it is an unfortunate act of very few misled people rather than so threatening?
Am I irrational ?
Joe
