Burse and Veil for OF Mass?

I (almost) always use the chalice veil.

I use the burse on Sundays and Holy Days.

So it sounds like I do more-or-less the same as your parish.

That’s simple laziness that I don’t use it on weekdays, I admit.
 
As a Master of Ceremonies for my parish, it’s my duty to lay out vestments. And I usually do, but if Father is hearing confessions before Mass in an alb, cincture, and stole, I usually put out the white and gold cincture as opposed to the one that matches the vestments for the day, as white and gold matches everything. In Lent I always put out the purple and gold cincture since that matches both the chasinule and the stole.
 
I usually don’t have that problem… I get to church well before Father and the sacristan and I take care of my pre mass duties and en pray… And yeah our priest has different cinctures for different vestments… All the same ‘pattern’, but red and gold for martyrs, green and gold for OT, etc.
 
that doesn’t surprise me… The Dominicans are a pretty good order in regards to liturgy for the most part.
 
That would be a blessing… If the USCCB or the Vatican would publish a normative and authoritative text on this, that would be amazing.
 
FAITH publishers offers a Sacristan Manual that we find useful.
 
Burse and veil used at all celebrations in the Ordinariate church I attend.
 
I am the Sacristan for my Parish. We always use both Burse & Veil for weekday & Sunday Masses.

Chalice and ciborium veils, pall and burse…

I use them for all Sunday Masses I MC or serve. They are my own personal property as my parish does not own any. All except for one retired priest who DETESTS them and claims their use has been “suppressed by the Church.” He’s wrong of course – while they are not a requirement, their use is appreciated by the Church. He was also downright nasty about it when I set-up Sunday Mass once and he was the celebrant. Not sure what his problem is?

He was concelebrating a Mass once and he was upset again, but I just ignored him that time.

I mean I could see why one would dislike the nurse and veil… Although it is suitable to use them, they can be clunky and cumbersome, especially when replacing the veil- a permanent deacon tipped over the chalice at my parish while reveiling it- thankfully it had just been purified.

I never put them back on at the end of the Mass – except the ciborium veil of course. Then I have to go retrieve it after Mass.
