Bus advertising campaign tackles Islamophobia

Isn’t an advertising campaign for Islam by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association a bit like a campaign for Catholicism by the Jehovah’s Witnesses?

The Ahmadiyya are considered infidel by orthodox Islam and are persecuted and slaughtered. You’d think they’d be the last people advocating that Islam is peaceful! Perhaps this is just a way of promoting their own brand of Islam?

This was reported on the BBC this morning, who seem happy for everyone to have a say except for the Catholics, without any background about Ahmadiyya.

This was reported on the BBC this morning, who seem happy for everyone to have a say except for the Catholics, without any background about Ahmadiyya.

Looks to me like they are portraying themselves as the true Islam and promoting their particular sect as such. By not mentioning that they are of a different sect they are no doubt hoping that those looking for information on Islam will be directed to their websites, media and literature.

I dunno if you saw them on BBC breakfast this morning, it was almost funny because when Bill Turnbull was talking about why people in Britain link Islam with extremism, he listed of all the events which actually put a pretty good case of why any sane person would link Islam with violence–it is violent! It has and continues to perpetrate violence throughout the world!!

Didn’t catch it, but yeah. I would think that the Ahmadiyya are trying to capitalise on that perspective by declaring Muslims as pacifists so that when you search for more information on Pacifist Islam you’re brought to an Ahmadiyya website.
