Buying a missal

I would like to get a 1962 missal like this one: baroniuspress.com/book.php?wid=56&bid=46, but with all the talk about EF/OF mutual enrichment, I’m a little worried that the calendar may be changed or integrated soon… What are the chances of that happening, do you think? Would I be safe to go ahead and get my missal?

Rome takes a long time. It could happen next year or not for another 20 years but either way you are owning a piece of tradition and history of the Church. Don’t have the throw away or latest edition mentality.

I suspect that any calendar changes soon would only maybe be the addition of a few saints’ days. It’s probably safe for you to go ahead and get it. It’s a great little volume even if you don’t have access to the Extraordinary Form of the Mass - you can always read the propers, and there are many other great devotions in there such as several litanies.
