This is this whole issue with gun control, I’ve gone out of my way to express that I’m not particularly against gun ownership. But to bring up anything but supporting unfettered gun access immediately puts one in the against bin.Like I said, even if we agreed in principle about guns and ownership, this is much larger than a simple gun argument, which is why there is a process that needs to undertaken to make wholesale changes - the drafting of constitutional amendments.
There are plenty on this board who strenuously oppose abortion or gay marriage. But, similar to my concern about having a gun pulled during an incident and purportedly having no voice in, then those protesting both abortion and gay marriage should have no voice either. Also, before the argument is made that abortion results in death, guns have only one real purpose also.
So again, I don’t oppose gun ownership. What amazes me is the obsessive inability to really hear any arguments against absolute ownership. It’s a bit like Golem and his ring.
