I’m trying to dig up an old citation for the idea of the Blessed Virgin Mary as a weapon. I’ve found old citations (from Athanasius of Alexandria and Gregory the Wonder Worker) for the idea of Blessed Virgin Mary as Ark of the New Covenant, and I know that the original Ark was used as a weapon, but I haven’t found a citation for someone making the connection of Blessed Virgin Mary as weapon. Does anyone have any suggestions?
 
Do you mean the BVM Herself, or the Rosary, or particular Marian sacramentals?
 
St. Padre Pio would say “get me my weapon” referring to his rosary beads. The Rosary is a powerful weapon against evil. Pray regularly.
 
What I am looking for is some saint or Church Father who refers to The Blessed Virgin Mary as a weapon against evil; perhaps in a commentary about the proto-Evangelium.
