Hello,

I am doing a paper arguing for the veneration of Mary. Im looking for articles or quotes from early church fathers, popes, etc…but they must come from a recognized source (not something plugged into Google) in order for the instructor to recognize it. I need something that I can source and cite back to a “credible” source.

My school library is EXTREMELY limited on this matter.

I want to argue that for so many years no one, not even Luther and Calvin, took issue with the veneration of Mary, but these days more and more seem to think its wrong to look at her in this way.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You might try searching the websites for the Vatican (vatican.va) or the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (www.usccb.org), where you will find lots of statements and links to official documents about veneration of Mary. Here is a link to one such document on the USCCB website which provides questions and answers about popular Catholic devotions, including devotion to Mary:

usccb.org/bishops/devprac.shtml

Im using those.

I guess Im kind of looking at “third party” type sources. Something to where maybe a non-Catholic would not shake it off because the Pope said it. Now the paper is going to include quotes from the known religious, but Im looking for other sources that are not.

Instead of whining that no one here will find your sources for you, why not trying to get yourself to an actual library?
As gracious as I am for that reply, you may have missed this:

“My school library is EXTREMELY limited on this matter.”

The school library is also very vast. I was simply looking for some help. But thanks anyway tough guy.
