Byzantine Icon blessing

I plan on attending a Divine Liturgy in the future which will be celebrated by this bi-ritual priest. I wanted to get a certain icon of the Holy Mother of God blessed using the Byzantine format. I was wondering if anyone knew if this Greek Orthodox blessing goarch.org/en/chapel/liturgical_texts/icon_blessing.asp
was the same as the Byzantine blessing of an icon or not.

Also, is it really common for the icon to blessed at the altar?

All of my Icons have been placed on the altar during the Divine Liturgy for their blessings.
 
The gist of the prayers in the Slavic trebniki is the same as this Greek prayer.
 
Some of mine have been blessed outside the DL by Russian Orthodox Priests, and yes, they are blessed in the Altar on the Altar Table.

Then I get blessed with that Icon by the priest.
