I am just about through attending my Byzantine Ruthenian parish. The laity’s great focus there seems to be set on trashing the Latin Rite. I really don’ think they realize how poorly that reflects on themselves.

Most of the Latin-Traditionalist crowd got run off by a former pastor. Those of us who are former Latin Rite are there because we love the Byzantine Rite.

**That makes sense because Ruthenian parishes are “sui juris” (i.e., self-governing).:yup: I prefer the RCC and I would enjoy the traditional Latin Mass returning . I adapt to whatever my chuch says. Like ti old saying about our county – “My Church right or wrong!” :heaven: It isn’t never wrong in God’s eyes only man’s.

Yeah, how did he do that? My Eastern pastor ( a wonderful man) was quite nervous with the coming of the motu proprio for the Tridentine Mass. We only lost about 10-15% of our parishioners.
Sadly the trash talk focused on the “NO Mass” and the “RCC” in general is so bad that after several years I have zero desire to take part in parish activities outside of formal liturgies.

Chuy, That is sad to hear you say. Part of going to Church is to be a member of the parish. To contribute your talents and fellowship with others who feel the same as you do. You are in my prayers. May you figure out what is really important to you in life. God Bless
